Dear supporters of Emmaus Clinic,

A few days ago, a young man came to our clinic with a broken leg. The traffic accident occurred in the Dominican Republic one month ago, on December 16. He was deported back to Haiti in this condition, which caused extreme suffering.

As we have always done for our patients, we will hire an orthopedic surgeon to repair his femur. This typically costs approximately $1500. Due to the increased demands at our clinic, we do not have the funds currently. We do not want to delay his treatment.

There were previously two hospitals within approximately 50 miles, where patients could go to receive this type of treatment without payment up front. However, they have closed due to the violence. Travel within Haiti is extremely dangerous, as gangs control many roads and neighborhoods.

We are seeking the funds needed to help him.
